In 2008, September 14th was declared National Childhood Cancer Awareness Day. Fast forward 4 years and this one day was upgraded to a whole month. In 2012, current President of the United States of America, Barack Obama proclaimed the month of September as such. He encouraged all Americans to "reaffirm our commitment to fighting childhood cancer".
