Dear Rockaway Friends & All Friends of Franny,

Thanks for making our 2nd Annual Frances Pope Foundation Beach Ball another tremendous success!! Special thanks to Tom Wipf and the Hell or High Water Band who were in top form and kept the guests dancing and singing all night.

Our VOLUNTEERS are our HEROS, headed by Jackie Justice Northrop, Ellen Preimesberger & Tracy Sullivan, who worked tirelessly months before, during and after the Beach Ball.

Special thanks to Nora Getchel and her mom, Maureen, for sharing the challenging, painfully long journey BUT ultimately beating Nora’s battle with a rare form of cancer. She has grown into a beautiful young healthy teen. Nora projected the the importance of hope to beat cancer. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Another young lady, Poppy Bechler, was able to attend with her mom to donate the $411.00 she raised at her Lemonade Stand at the Sunnyside Gardens Park in the spring. This is Poppy’s 3rd year raising money for the children of Frances Pope Foundation.

The staff at The Rockaway Hotel outdid themselves. The hotel has made its mark in the community. It is beautiful, comfortable, and fun. Put it on your MUST VISIT hotel list.

Also, thanks to all who donated outstanding raffle prizes.

But we especially thank all who attended last Thursday to support our mission to help families caring for children with cancer pay some of the expenses that are not covered by insurance. On behalf of our Board of Directors and the families we serve, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
